JAN-JUN 2019 PARTNERSHIP
The California Institute of Environmental Studies (CIES) was established in 1976 as a 501 (c)(3) organization working to aid seabird populations that were affected by marine contaminants in the Southern California Bight.
Current CIES projects on the California Channel Islands focus on four species of seabirds: the California Brown Pelican, Scripps’s Murrelet, Ashy Storm-Petrel, and Cassin’s Auklet.
CIES has frequent volunteer days on Anacapa Island for habitat restoration work. Trips occur on most Wednesdays and transportation is aboard the Channel Islands National Park vessel, Ocean Ranger. Please join!
